Ian Nuttall
- Leaving BRGS in 1998, Ian Nuttall studied Environmental Geo-Science at Birmingham University where his desire to become involved in disaster recovery took hold. He went on to join the Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service and more recently was offered a place on the county’s International Search and Rescue Team.

- French Horn player

Studied the French horn and conducting at the Royal College of Music and now divides his time between orchestral playing, chamber music and conducting. As a solo artist he has recorded for ASV, BMG and Cala Records.

- Represented Great Britain in Skeleton Bobsleigh

Natalie Casey (b.1980)  
- Actress & presenter

Born in Rawtenstall. Best known for appearing as "Carol" in Channel 4's Hollyoaks and "Donna" in BBC's Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps. Has also presented on MTV and Big Brother's Little Brother (Channel 4).

Sir John Egan
- Previously chairman and chief executive of Jaguar cars and now Chairman of Severn Trent.

Became Chairman of Severn Trent in January 2005.
Sir John was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in 1986.

Entry in 'Who's Who' reads: Professor Brian Selby Hartley: FRS 1971; Chairman of Agrol Ltd, 1993 - 2000; Professor of Biochemistry, Imperial College, University of London 1974 - 1991, Emeritus Professor, 1991; Senior Research Fellow, Centre for Biotechnology, 1991 - 1994; Educated at Queens College, Cambridge and the University of Leeds. Publications include papers and articles in scientific journals and books and recreations include fishing and gardening.

John Iveson
- Formerly the co-principal trombonist with the BBC Symphony Orchestra

Began his professional career in 1965 in BBC Symphony Orchestra, and in 1969 was appointed Principal in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Since then he has worked with all the major London orchestras and also in film and television studio recording.

Paul Stephenson QPM
- Deputy Commissioner of Metropolitan Police

On 16 March 2005 Mr Stephenson took up the post of Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Service. Mr Stephenson was awarded the Queen’s Policing Medal for services to policing in May 2000, and was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List, 2008.
