Year 8 Residential trip to Anglesey March 2009
From
16th to 18th March, Year
8 pupils
attended the annual Maths residential trip to Anglesey.
The residential is to allow the pupils to develop
their wider mathematical abilities in a range of contexts
outside the classroom. Puzzles that required
the application of logic, obstacles to overcome by thoughtful
strategies and problems that pupils had to solve using
quick thinking were also on the agenda - as was an exciting
trip to the Tree Top high ropes adventure course in Betws-y-Coed,
North Wales.
Jumping 60 feet out of a tree may not be your idea of fun,
but Year 8 certainly
enjoyed it when coming to the end of the high ropes course.
Pupils followed
a maths trail and then guided each other through the trees
60 feet high swinging on tyres and jumping from platform
to platform.
