Orienteering - The Lancashire Schools League
Sunday 19th September '04
Over 100 juniors from Lancashire Schools took part in the first
League Event of the season at Arnside Knott, near Morcambe. BRGS
orienteers dominated all the classes with Simon Allan, Sophie
Horrocks, Anna Shaid and Joseph Wood all finishing in the top
ten on the 1.6km Yellow Course.
Stephen Horrocks was runaway winner on the 2.7km Orange course
with Liam Taylor 3rd and Alex Willis 7th. Last years champion
Danny Hoyle ran a creditable 6th place finish on a very technical
Light Green Course and Tom Heaton finished 4th, one place ahead
of Ben Smith on the 4.4km Green Course. Although points are still
to be calculated, it looks certain that BRGS will be the leading
school.
