Last
week (18th April - 24th April) was Multiple Sclerosis Week
and on
Friday 23rd April it was national MS Cake Break day. We organised
a cake stall in the hall at morning break and lunch time to raise
money for the charity - any excuse to eat cakes! The cakes and
biscuits were baked and donated by family, friends and teachers,
and we also received some cakes from Mannings bakery in Waterfoot
and a selection of things including doughnuts, muffins and Scooby
Doo buns from Greggs in Burnley. We raised £310, which
was absolutely fantastic. We are planning to give the money to
the Pendle branch of the MS Society, as we know that they are
struggling to raise money and we feel that more people would
benefit from the money if it was used locally. We had a brilliant
day (in our bright orange t-shirts!!) and we would like to thank
all the teachers and pupils who helped in any way, and of course
everyone who came and bought cakes because without them we would
have nothing! We all had fun and the mess in the hall was minimal
which was great because we might be allowed to do it again!!!
Thank you!
