BRGS
Sixth Form is an integral and essential part of the whole 11-18
school and many students have the opportunity to help with younger
members of the school as form prefects; others becoming involved
with various sporting, musical and other activities.
Each
Sixth Former is placed in a tutor group of about twenty students
in order
that effective pastoral care can be provided. There is also
a highly developed system of providing Careers and higher education guidance.
A system of target setting is followed to ensure that each student reaches his
or her potential. All participation in the life of the school is acknowledged
by the production of high quality references for employment or university.
|
All Sixth Form
students study "AS" level Critical Thinking in the Lower
Sixth and "AS" and "A" Level General Studies
in the Upper Sixth. This is designed to prevent 16-19 education
from becoming too academically narrow. In addition, a quality work
experience placement is offered in order to enable each student
to clarify his or her ideas about future employment or higher education.
Enhancing the formal life of the Sixth Form are the activities which the students
organise for themselves, including the participation in a variety of events,
sporting activities and social gatherings, culminating in a Fancy dress Leavers'
event and a spectacular Leavers' Ball attended by staff and students.

Sixth Form is a happy and caring community in which we seek to
prepare young people for entry into the world of higher education
or employment.
We sincerely hope that you will join us!
