University you are at, why you chose this university,
and give one interesting fact about your university:
Sheffield University - Best Students Union in the UK.
FACT - Far away enough but not too far, everyone I spoke to said they never wanted to leave.
Best things about your university city:
Its the greenest city in the UK so quite chilling and some parts do remind me of ol' Rossendale. The student population is amazing and a huge choice of things to do each night of the week. The city centre is quite cosy and is currently under massive redevelopment.
Worst things about your university city:
Suppose it has quite a few hills, its quite windy but doesn't rain half as much as Rossendale.

Social scene/nightlife in your university city?:

Amazing, massive student population. Best Union in the UK providing good nights including 'The Tuesday Club' where acts like Pendulum or Mark Ronson play week in week out. Huge Drum and Bass scene but still keeping Indie roots with bands such as The Long Blondes playing in the city.
Popular activities at your university/ in your university city?: Favourite places to shop
Massive diverse range, join as many as you can including all the bizarre ones. Division Street, the Northern Quarter of Sheffield but half the price of Manchester.
How much on average per week do a) Halls of Residence, b) Renting a house, cost in your university town/city? What is the accommodation like in your university town/city?
Halls are quite pricey, they've just built loads of funky ensuite pads and there about £85 a week. But with a student loan, no worries. Swish!, They've created a student village in the nicest part of the city. Full of old Victorian houses from the masters of Sheffield's industrial past.
How much on average do you spend on food shopping per week?
about £15-£20 gets you a nice nutritional haul. I have spent £5 some weeks but do not recommend it.
What is the course you are studying? - Was it your original choice when applying for university?
Town and Regional Planning, changed from Civil Engineering.
How many years does your course last?
4 years.
What you enjoy most about your course/ what impresses you about it?:
So interesting. Chatting about property and regeneration. Lots of design work too. Arty and academic. Good vocational career prospects.
What you enjoy least about your course, and what could be improved :
My 9am lecture on Wednesday
How do you rate the teaching standards on your course, and do
your tutors/lecturers/the university give you the right support for your studies?:
Top marks. Definitely, they go out of their way for you for anything.
What A Level Grades/UCAS points did you have to achieve to be accepted onto your course? Why did you choose the particular course you are studying?
BBC
Seemed really interesting.
Best thing about being at university: Worst thing about being at university:
Living and sharing moments with people who are out for good times. Expensive, but in the end you cant really avoid the cost and graduates always earn more than non uni people. With low interest rates and bursaries its nothing to worry about.
What do you plan to do after you graduate?
Build some Houses
If you were to recommend going to university, what would you say?
I wouldnt swap it for anything. Good times all the time. The works much easier than A levels too.
Do you get homesick? If so, how do you deal with it?
I did a little initially but everyone does, just chat to people in your halls, everyones in the same boat.
Do you think you made the right choice? Or looking back, would you have gone to a different university/started a different course?
Wouldn't change it for all the tea in China.
What have you achieved whilst being at university?
More confident, met some lovely people, design skills
Any other comments about your university experience:
You only live once
