Cost of Rent!

Social scene/nightlife in your
university city?:

Popular activities at your university/ in your university city?:
Awesome, don’t think anywhere else Ive been to can beat it. Kirkstall Brewery is the number one place to go. If you can think of any sport, Leeds Met will have a club for you. All other usual Student Union societies as well.

Depends how much I've spent on beer and if pot noodles are on offer!!!!!!!!!! Bout 20 quid a week.
What is the course you are studying? - Was it your original choice when applying for university? How many years
does your course last?
Secondary PE teaching, it was my only choice. There are few exams, mainly assignments - subject to changes. 4 years.

How do you rate the teaching standards on your course, and do
your tutors/lecturers/the university give you the right support for your studies?:
Top quality teaching standards, support is good. A number of staff are currently performing a wide range of research in the teaching field, involving input into the new PE NC.
What A Level Grades/UCAS points did you have to achieve to be accepted onto your course? Why did you choose the particular course you are studying?
220 Ucas points. Think you need 260 now. Loved PE, wanted to teach, there you go.
Other comments about course:
Last year out of 44 student who achieved QTS only 5 did not get teaching jobs. Most of those went into supply teaching though I believe. Students who have dropped out of my course - usually been because it was due to changing their mind about teaching I suppose. Most dropouts have been during placement.
Best thing about being at university: Worst thing about being at university:
Freedom, Beer, dishwasher, sky, new mates. Rent, Bills, Taking the bin out, doing own washing, mice in the garage, work.
What do you plan to do after you graduate? If you were to recommend going to university, what would you say?
Teach either back home or in Yorkshire somewhere, depending on posts available. Probably to have a gap year before you start to earn money. Living in your overdraft constantly aint much fun. Nor is living off Golden Grahams!
Do you get homesick? If so, how do you deal with it?
No, never. Ive had too much of a laugh I think.
Do you think you made the right choice? Or looking back, would you have gone to a different university/started a different course?
Yes, its been good. Would have had a gap year looking back.
What have you achieved whilst being at university?
Academically – very little! Socially and as a person – independent living, learned to sort out everything I need to set up on my own for life.
Any other comments about your university experience:
Fantastic!
