All Sixth Form students study 'AS' Level Critical Thinking in Year 12 and 'AS' and 'A' Level General Studies in Year 13. This is designed to prevent their 16-19 education from becoming academically too narrow.
When you apply to the Sixth Form, we ask you to choose five subjects as follows:
You choose three subjects which, at this stage, you think you will continue to study for two years to full A level. You choose a fourth subject which, at this stage, you think you will study for only the first year to AS level. The fifth subject is your reserve choice.
The exam boards do not allow you to study the following pairs:
» English Language with English Language & Literature combined
» English Literature with English Language & Literature combined
» Biology with Human Biology.

» If you choose Further Maths, you must also choose Maths.
