SCHOOLS ORIENTEERING CHAMPIONS

Liam Taylor, Alex
Willis, Stephen Horrocks and
Jack Heyworth are the Year 12 Boys British Schools
Orienteering Champions having completed a wet and windy challenging course over the
British Army’s Tank Training ground at Bovington, Dorset.
The team have in previous years been perennial runners up to
the likes of Ulverston Victoria and Nottingham High Schools
respectively, but this year they finished in pole position,
leaving their rivals far behind.
Liam Taylor, Alex Willis & Stephen Horrocks recieve their
medals and trophy from Mr Morris.
The school’s overall position was third
place for the second year running, but only two points behind
King Henry VIII this time.

BRGS 3rd place Orienteering team
Emily
Lester, in her final
appearance, at a British Schools Championships, took a
Siver Medal second place in Y13 Girls and
the all new Year 7 Girls team of Eilidh Brailey, Esther Clare,
Heather Cudworth, Rachel
Service, and Bronagh Wyatt-Thorburn finished
third place, winning Bronze Medals.
